I don't know if you are aware of these news. This has been the bloodiest and the most cruel thing happened during the election period. I just remember what happened to my dad and it was also connected to election too.

Much to my dismay, I hope these journalist will give them a right justice. These people doesn't received a satisfying salary, sleepless nights, competing to get a latest happening, didn't able to bond with their family and every step they moved, danger is their nickname but this is nothing for them. These people sacrificed their lives just to give us news what happening in our country, especially in Mindanao, since the island is more like secluded due to religion and culture indifference.

Let us pray and hope these people will finally see the light in the second life. It's been cruel for them in this dimension but I'm sure a light will come for them in another.

Why you should care

If you are reading this right now, you have more luxury than someone in Iran could ever hope for right now. If you are watching TV or a video on youtube, updating your status on Facebook, Tweeting, or even texting your friend, you are lucky. If you are safe in your home, and were able to sleep last night without the sounds of screaming from the rooftops, you need to know and understand what is happening to people just like you in Iran right now.

They are not the enemy. They are a people whose election has been stolen. For the first time in a long time, a voice for change struck the youth of Iran, just as it did for many people in the United States only seven months ago. Hossein Mousavi gained the support of millions of people in Iran as a Presidential candidate. He stands for progressiveness. He supports good relations with the West, and the rest of the world. He is supported with fervor as he challenges the oppressive regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

On Friday, millions of people waited for hours in line to vote in Iran's Presidential election. Later that night, as votes came in, Mousavi was alerted that he was winning by a two-thirds margin. Then there was a change. Suddenly, it was Ahmadinejad who had 68% of the vote - in areas which have been firmly against his political party, he overwhelmingly won. Within three hours, millions of votes were supposedly counted - the victor was Ahmadinejad. Immediately fraud was suspected - there was no way he could have won by this great a margin with such oppposition. Since then, reports have been coming in of burned ballots, or in some cases numbers being given without any being counted at all. None of this is confirmed, but what happened next seems to do the trick.

The people of Iran took the streets and rooftops. They shout "Death to the dictator" and "Allah o akbar." They join together to protest. Peacefully. The police attack some, but they stay strong. Riots happen, and the shouting continues all night. Text messaging was disabled, as was satellite, and websites which can spread information such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and the BBC are blocked in the country. At five in the morning, Arabic speaking soldiers (the people of Iran speak Farsi) stormed a university in the capital city of Tehran. While sleeping in their dormitories, five students were killed. Others were wounded. These soldiers are thought to have been brought in by Ahmadinejad from Lebanon. Today, 192 of the university's faculty have resigned in protest.

Mousavi requested that the government allow a peaceful rally to occur this morning - the request was denied. Many thought that it would not happen. Nevertheless, first a few thousand people showed up in the streets of Tehran. At this point, it is estimated that 1 to 2 million people were there. Mousavi spoke on the top of a car. The police stood by. For a few hours, everything was peaceful. Right now, the same cannot be said. Reports of injuries, shootings, and killings are flooding the internet. Twitter has been an invaluable source - those in Iran who still know how to access it are updating regularly with picture evidence. People are being brutally beaten. Tonight will be another night without rest for so many in Iran no older than I am. Tonight there is a Green Revolution.

Writer's Block: Smoked Out

Beer and cigarettes once went together like bread and butter, but now smoking in bars is banned in many cities. When you see smokers standing outside bars in the cold and rain, what is your first reaction? Walk on by, join them, or scorn them?

I'll just walk on by. I myself a smoker before (like alot lol) but of course I know my limitation and I also these complications. So I'm not going to smoke outside in cold and rain, but if I saw them, I'll ignore them.

Real Life Updates:

I've been sick and too much pain for a couple of days. I had a root canal a week ago and man it's not very pleasant. I didn't ate that much because my tooth hurts a lot. >_< So boohoo for me >_<

The good news is that I went to Philippine Fashion Week (yes despite of my pain, I manage to go!) and I supported my friend, named Benedict (known as Nikki Sonico) which he presented his collection. Me and cousin (the homophobe one) went to see the fashion show. I just giggled that my cousin's reaction is so priceless:

At home, before we leave:
Cuz: Your sense of style is pretty weird
Me: I'm in fashion industry, its normal for me.
Cuz: You want to be like punk jap dude
Me: and I love it (when I decided to wear Converse Chucks, instead of high heel sandals)

After show
Cuz: Ate you're very normal in Philippine fashion scene
Me: I told you so. Hahahaha!
Thus he realized that Filipino loves fashion and very loud when it comes to fashion, now my cousin wonders why I dressed weird in Canada. Oh Lord. Though I think I'm still normal LOL

Anyway, here are some selected photos in Philippine Fashion Week:

Anyway, I enjoyed a lot all in all ^_^
I'm hoping that the production will allow that me and my friend will collaborate for the next Philippine Fashion Week *prays*

Writer's Block: The Beatles

  • Oct. 9th, 2008 at 6:00 AM
My Greatest Music Hero John Lennon

In their heyday, The Beatles were the center of the pop universe. Many groups have been hailed as the next Beatles, but does pop music even have a center anymore? Who represents the core of pop music to you?

View 500 Answers

since it's John Lennon's Birthday... I'm gonna answer this...

Honestly, I think there's a lot of musician came out after The Beatles and I think they're really great. There's a lot of artist are inspired of their music but I think (in my opinion anyway) that Beatles is still one of the most influential musician for decades and anyone can admit that. Sadly, music has been fast-paced these days that I'm not shameful to say that I'm not updated in today's music because again, in my opinion, there aren't worth listening and worth to be said that they're going to be legend for the next 20 years. This is my opinion anyway =D
